Bush: "Get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit"
Big crisis in the middle east - Hezbollah has woken a sleeping giant by firing multiple missles and rockets into Israeli towns with Israel responding by bombing Beirut and its international airport, as well as shelling southern Lebanon. Syria, supporter of Hezbollah and eastern neighbor of Lebanon, has warned that they will get involved if Israel increases its attacks. Basically, the shit is hitting the fan - and everyone is holding their breath and hoping it doesn't end up in their face. This situation could easily escalate, with Israel sending in ground troops. Syria could get involved and spread the conflict, causing Iran to come to the aid of Damascus. If Iran decides to play ball, the US will not hesitate to come to Israels aid.
It's a very tense situtation - one that requires quick, informal talk to get down to the point. And thats just what happened earlier today when Bush and Blair were speaking privately. A nearby mic picked up their conversation - you can read the transcript here. Basically, Bush and Blair are not liking Kofi Annan's (UN secretary general) approach and are willing to send Condi to help bring peace. Bush offers his point of view very concisely - "get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit." True dat dubya, true dat....
So here's the deal - this could very easily turn into a global conflict centered around Israel and its numerous enemies. If the war carries to Iran, North Korea will surely be tempted to get invovled, as will China. Keep your eyes and ears on the news, because this could get ugly....
