Site Info

So I started doing some site maintenance this morning and I have a couple of announcements:

1: My official email is now ian@thinkgibson.com. I have about 50 email accounts free, so if you want a limited edition Thinkgibson.com email address let me know.
2: Google Adsense has now been added to the top of the page. Hopefully as more people visit the site (about 25 per day right now) I can receive a small cash flow from the ads to pay for the site.
3: I just realized that making a numbered list for two things is really fucking retarded. And now I'm tired.

Sleepy time,
Ian M. Gibson

Back from Annapolis

So I just got back yesterday from Annapolis where I attended the YMCA Maryland Youth and Government program for three days. It was a lot of fun - we had about 200 attendees that took roles as senators, delegates, and cabinet officials with our own individual bills that we presented in the actual state house. I actually was speaker pro tem for about an hour and a half on Tuesday morning - kinda cool as I sat in the big chair and banged my big gavel (:P) as I regulated parliamentary debate. Overall I was impressed: I made a lot of friends (chicabowow @ the dance) and look forward to returning next year and a possible run for Speaker of Da Hizzouse.

Now stop you're bitchin' - this ain't turning into a personal blog, it's still extremely political. My bill at the Y & G was controversial as expected; I motioned for the removal of the phrase "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. I truly believe strongly about this as it was instated in 1951 by a hardcore right-wing Christian group for the purpose of combating the Atheist Communist threat. The phrase is deeply religious and a direct violation of the 1st amendment of the United States Constitution - seperation of church and state must be obeyed. State sponsored religion is a direct violation of the rights of this nation's citizens. Sounds good, right? Turns out I got stuck in a committee with most of the Notre Dame Preporatory girls and my logical and concise arguements were no match for their fanatical religious beliefs. It is not blasphemy to remove "under God", it is simply recognizing a diverse range of religious beliefs and their right to believe what they want.

So anyways, right now I'm busy reinstalling all my programs on my PC as I just formatted it. Fucking spyware, get a life u emo hackers. I'll have another post soon - spread the word to increase readership.

Motion for adjournment,
Ian M. Gibson

PS: A friend got some pics of me leading the house so hopefully I'll have them up soon. And don't fuck your co-workers!

Iranian Nuclear Crisis

Iran has recently announced it has produced it's first Uranium 235, an important element in the production of nuclear technology both for energy and tactical purposes. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has repeatedly stated that the nuclear development is his country's right and has also threatened the US, Israel, and other country's in the past. Basically its a madman making an h-bomb. Maybe we should just stand by and wait until he actually has the weapon and uses it before we act. The UN is pointless once again as they have appointed Iran to the Disarmament Committee and have passed several useless resolutions asking Iran to stop. Iran is ignoring all efforts at peace talks and continuing on its course towards world war three. This is not a similar situation to Pakistan-India even though they Iran received nuclear secrets from the same source. With India and Pakistan, they each built a formidable arsenal for defensive purposes against each other. As long as no one launches first, the region is safe. With Iran, we have another Iraq - a country seeking to produce weapons of mass destruction to make good on threats against foreign nations like Israel, the US, and many others. Would you let a toddler pick a loaded weapon and really think nothing bad will happen? Think again mother fuckers 'cuz this situation is about to get out of hand.

Speaking of Iraq and Iran, I hate how people say we are spreading our troops thin and getting too many kids killed. I hate to sound non-chalant but 2600 dead over 3 years is an excellent battle loss. We took a country from its oppressive dictator, freed its people, and continue to fight Islamic extremists that threaten the stability of the region. Our military forces are superior to all other nations - taking Iran would be more difficult than Operation Iraqi Freedom but still easily do-able. I'm not saying we should storm the borders and take the entire country, we just need to forcibly disarm the nation as a last resort. And by last resort I mean a couple years down the road when Iran has a respectable arsenal and is pointing it in the direction of its neighbors after ignoring all foreign efforts for peace.

So anyways, I guess my last post really showed how controversial ThinkGibson can get. Remember, I like to take the side of what is factually and morally right - isn't mass delusion a bad thing? Speaking of that, I have a funny story. I very rarely get hit in an offensive manner. Sure I play around and punch in the arm with my friends but I was flat out back-handed the other day. By who? A Christian extremist 5 foot six 110 lb. girl. STFU - I CAN HEAR YOU LAUGHING! Seriously though, we were talking about Jesus and she wrongly stated that I thought he didn't exist. I said, "No, i believe he was a real person - I just question his divinity. In my mind, he was a cult leader...." WAP! Damn she hit pretty hard; I guess they really don't have an open mind. I have never escalated a religious debate to personal degredation or physical violence - it is always the close minded that move to strike.

Hail Xenu,
Ian M. Gibson

PS: I'll be down in Annapolis as part of youth legislative program - I new post won't be available until Tuesday.
