Relgious Dilemna
Recently a document of extraordinary importance has surfaced, a codex of papyrus and leather that has stood the test of time to finally tell the world its side fo the story. It is the ultimate tale of deceit and treachery that is spoken in churches throughout the world and features a climatic death of a historic figure at the hands of his betrayer. That's right bitches, it's the Gospel of Judas.
Judas has always been portrayed by Christians as the ultimate sinner who betrays Jesus and ultimately sends him to his death at the hands of the Romans. The gospels featured in the New Testament, Mark, John, Luke, and Matthew, tell the story in a mostly anti-Judas manner. However, in recent years historians have uncovered over 30 gospels that were left out of the Bible. Surprise surprise - the New Testament was put together by a group of hard-ass Christians who picked and chose which stories made the final cut. Kinda weird as most modern non-fiction writers don't leave out some facts and replace them with falacies to improve the book.
Anyways, this Judas guy is portrayed as pure evil in all four gospels. All of these guys were the best of buds when they were Jesus' disciples until passover dinner when something strange occured between Judas and Jesus. In the four gospels Jesus is said to declare that his betrayer is in the room and that they will commit an great act in the coming days. He then makes some kind of a sign that Judas is the one he is talking about and bada bing Judas turns him over to the Romans and commits suicide. First of all, if the Bible is so fucking true why are the four gospels different? There are variations in the betrayal conversation as well as with other major events. Plus, why would Judas commit suicide from guilt if he's such a badass? You never see the evil genius shoot himself after fucking Superman over. Another key thing - all of the disciples were jealous of Judas. Judas also meant "Jew" in the olden days bringing up a major part of the new testament: anti-semitism.
The Gospel of Judas has been confirmed to have been written around 250 AD - it was common for religious documents to be written after the events occured; the four gospels were documented after Mark, Luke, John, and Matthew were dead. Handwriting and language are all accurate and a bishop in 180 AD critiqued the Gospel in his writings. In other words, this shit is as fucking real as it gets.
The story the Gospel tells is very unique and much different from the four gospels. In it, Jesus comes into the supper and laughs at the disciples for observing a Jewish holiday and not realizing the new religion they are creating. Judas is the only one that gets the joke so Jesus pulls him aside to tell him the vast expanses of his kingdom. At this point the other roadies biotches disciples become jealous of Judas' relationship with Jesus and grow angry with him. In the other room, Jesus tells Judas, (DIRECT FUCKING QUOTES FROM SOME ANCIENT EGYPTIAN GUY) "You shall be cursed for generations... you will come to rule over them... You will exceed all of them. For you will sacrifice the man that clothes me." Judas replied, "HOLY SHIT Jesus wants me to kill him!" Ok so I made up that last part but I'm pretty sure that's at least kinda accurate.
The rest is the same as Judas obeys Jesus and tells the Romans who crucify his aching ass. Judas feels extremely guilty and then commits suicide. So the big question is - which one is more believable? On one hand you have a faithful disciple that suddenly turns bad for no reason and turns over his leader to the bad guys and then commits suicide. The other side is a commited disciple that his the teacher's pet and is chosen by his "savior" to help him die. His guilt is so great that he offs himself and the other disciples continue to blame him for Jesus' death. I gotta say that I support the Gospel of Judas. As seen with Waco and the recent increase in demand of Kool Aid, cult leaders tend to be a little suicidal and embrace the idea of death. Jesus knew that his death would help him become a martyr and expand his circle of believers. The other big question is why would Judas commit suicide if he had just scored a major victory in his evil plan to overthrow Jesus? The idea of guilt as a motive for suicide is much more believable in the Gospel of Judas as he was unsure of Jesus' command and ended up feeling solely responsible for his leader's death.
Go ahead, make up your own damn mind. Remember to keep an open mind and embrace change, as hopefully you'll come to realize how ridiculous modern religion is.
